Did not know Earl personally, but do fondly remember my year on Dutton and the great Navy people I served with there. Live in New Hampshire and would love to meet with anyone.

I just found out that Earl had died. I'm very sorry to hear about that. He and I had corresponded about four years ago, and I had promised to send him some photos when I got around to to sorting through my voluminous photo collection. I just sent a photo and key of 1960 Ocdet 1 sailors, before I realized he had died. So, to whom should I send the photos now? And, thanks so much for rescuing the site!

Phil and I were notified yesterday that the tags-21.info domain is ours. So things have moved along faster than we originally expected, which is great. We have a few more items to take care of but the site should be on-line at the original domain later today or early tomorrow. We will post a message as soon as it is up. Chet |

Today, 09 Apr 2015, was a special day; LT David Crestin and I were in contact via telephone. He was the Admin Officer when I reported aboard the Bowditch in Feb 1966 and during my tour on her. He was a top notch officer and one of my favorites.
While looking at some of the ship's specs I noticed the fuel capacity and range. All three had a fuel capacity of 19,023.3 barrels and a range of 21,300 miles. That equates to .893 barrel per mile, or 37.51 gallons per mile. Our ships weren't exactly VW Beetles when it came to mileage. Thanks David, it was a genuine pleasure talking with you. Chet |

Good news; Phil and I have the tags-21.info domain name. It was auctioned today and we got it. It will take a couple of weeks before it will officially be transferred to us. As soon as that happens, it will be back on-line. At that time there will be two domains that can be used to access the site, .info and .org.
We're getting there. |
