At the base of the tower, looking up at one of the few things in that country was taller than he was.
Aki Takase (left) and her cousin, Uri. Aki is a fine jazz pianist whom I met in Tokyo playing in a club one inport. Great lady. She lives in Berlin now. Here’s her Web site. Aki, Ron, Uri and I hung out and travelled around Japan together while we were there.
Can’t remember how fast they went, but it was impressive at the time.

On the train back to Tokyo from Kyoto. Aki had perfect pitch as a musician. When she was young and travelling with her mother, mom trained her ear using sounds in the environment. A very talented woman.
