The movie on the table is "The Wild Bunch". It had a release date of 18 June 1969 in the USA, so at the time, this would have been a "new" movie.

Note the bookshelves. On both Bowditch and Michelson we'd get a box or two of paperbacks each inport. I don't know who sent them--some official Navy morale thing I think. We fought over the SF.
